


The Poor Boys
Steve Diver
London based band "The Poorboys" released their first single “Move Baby Move” back in the early 1980s. This single was very well received and led to the release of two further albums in 1987/1988. The band were very successful in the USA, touring the country and playing across many popular venues.
The band consisted of five members, each with their own unique talent. Steve Diver was the lead guitarist – described as sitting somewhere between Chris Isaak and Buddy Holly, Steve later went on to achieve great success as a solo artist.
Other members of the band went on to play with MORRISEY. Supremo BOZ BOORDER went on to release many other tracks on his own label. These may be obtained from his stall in Camden lock from the USA he chose to take a degree, A production of GREASE led to an introduction to music men DAVE PATRICK and SIMON BURGES.
Steve Diver Biography
1981 - formed and played in the Frantix (North London).
1982 - Steve also played with a band called "The Blue Rhythm
1982 - discovered by Ted Carrol owner of Ace Rewards (Camden). Released ep called "Move Baby Move", which reached number 1 in independent charts.
1983 - The Frantix moved to New York and got re-braded as "The Poorboys". "The Poorboys" recorded with producer "Mike Young", Hit called "Dancing With The Rebels" hit number 10 in US charts.
The band members were also asked to accompany Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant culminating in the Principal Of Moments party Launch held at the Be Bop Cafe In NYC East Village.
The Poorboys collaborated with other bands with members of the iconic 80s Roackabilly band The Polecats with guitarist supremo Boz Boorer who later played for the Smiths originator Morrisey
1984 - Steve became a session musician in New York City, played for various artists and laying down guitar tracks on more records than he can recall.
1992 - 1993 - Steve recorded two tracks, which he wrote called "Never going to let you down" and "Don't waste my time" in The Well studios in St Albans UK.
Steve appeared on Top Of The Pops Charts with:
1982 Poor Boys - Move Baby Move - which reached number 1 in the MNE charts.
